Not sure if you are skilled or fit enough to ride the Telkom 947 Mountain Bike Challenge routes?
Going for rides in mountain bike parks in and around Gauteng will allow you to prepare for your ride by becoming more skilled, confident and fit, and some facilities also offer skills clinics, which are highly recommended. It’s easier to motivate yourself to get out there if you’ve got a goal and the #CCMTB2017 offers custom built tracks in a beautiful part of Joburg not usually accessible to the public. Sign up as your first step to mastering mountain biking, we’ve got two distances for you to choose from:
While the 55km* route certainly targets more fit and skilled riders, the aim of the 25km* route is to offer a good mountain biking adventure for a wider range of participants. Even seasoned mountain bikers won’t be bored – there are fun river crossings, amusing single and jeep tracks, a few unusual obstacles and some interesting climbs to allow less experienced pedallers to really see the charms of riding off-road.
With a full-length route, no lap racing is required and you can stop and enjoy the camaraderie at the vibey water points along the way. There is also mechanical assistance available in case you have a mishap, and one always ends up meeting some cool people along the way!
*distances may vary up to 5km
