Under heavy Joburg skies, and despite one cheeky request from a South African Tour de France star, Sam Sanders and Wessel Botha were crowned champions of the Telkom 947 Mountain Bike Challenge at the Riversands Commercial Park on Sunday.

Palesa Manaleng is a true inspiration! Along with 11 runners, she will cycle 2200 kilometres to raise awareness to change the perception around disability.

It’s not often an everyday person gets to cycle around a FIA Grade 2 level Grand Prix Circuit.
For both the Telkom 947 Mountain Bike Challenge (11 and 12 November) and the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge (19 November), Voltaren will be on site at the finish, with a team of physios and chiros to massage you using Voltaren Emulgel, if required.
Residents who have been utilising Riversands Boulevard while the R511 has been closed for road works should note that from the 6 November, Riversands Boulevard will be closed, and the R511 will be open.
